XRF is the industry standard for non-destructive precious metal testing — used by hallmarking offices, refineries and jewellers worldwide. Readings can vary slightly due to surface condition, plating, solder or uneven alloy distribution; we account for this and note it on the label.

No. XRF is completely non-destructive. We don't scratch, acid-test or alter the item in any way. It comes back to you exactly as it went in — sealed in a ziplock bag with its certificate label.

The melt value on the label is the raw bullion value of the pure gold or silver content at today's spot price. Actual offers from buyers will typically be lower because they need to cover refining, processing and their margin. Resale value for jewellery, watches or coins may also be much higher than melt — based on brand, craftsmanship or collectability.

Yes. We can XRF-test most metals (platinum, palladium, copper, brass, etc.) for the same €20 fee. You'll get the same label with the alloy breakdown and weight, but without a melt-value calculation for non-precious metals.
